What JetSet is

JetSet lets a traveller pay a vendor from their phone. The traveller’s JetSet wallet scans a QR code shown by the vendor’s till and pays in JETS, a token on the Stellar network, directly to the vendor. Vendors use JetSet Vendor, a till app and a web portal, to show the QR code and watch the payment arrive on the ledger.

Testnet beta

JetSet is a testnet beta. It runs on the Stellar test network.

JETS

JETS has a fixed supply of 100,000,000. The account that issued it is locked, so no more can ever be issued, and clawback is off: JetSet cannot reverse a payment or take JETS out of anyone’s wallet.

Your wallet and your keys

JetSet is non-custodial.

• Your keys are made on your phone and kept in its secure storage, behind Face ID or your phone’s biometrics. They never leave the phone.
• JetSet never holds your keys or your funds, and cannot move or recover them.
• When you set up, you write down a 24-word recovery phrase. It is the only way to restore your wallet on a new phone. If you lose your phone and your phrase, your JETS are lost for good, and JetSet cannot get them back.

Accounts

An account is your identity for JetSet, for travellers and vendors alike: a verified email and phone, and the public keys of your wallets. It never holds keys or funds. A payment happens only on your phone, with your phone’s key, so a stolen web session cannot move money: no web page holds a key.

Payments and fees

A payment moves JETS from your wallet to the vendor’s address on Stellar. JetSet cannot reverse it.

Stellar charges a very small network fee for each payment. JetSet pays that fee for payments made through the app, so you do not need to hold anything else to pay.

Refunds and disputes

Refunds are payments. If a vendor agrees to refund you, they send a payment back to you; nothing is reversed.

If you are a vendor

You set your own prices and are responsible for your sales and your refunds. A till holds no key: the QR code carries your public address, and payouts are signed from your own wallet. A vendor account can have staff with roles: owner, manager and till.
